From 0 to 150 thousand dollars in 6 years. Ten lessons from inside SEO for those who want to work on the Internet.

[ad_1]

Welcome, my followers SEO true

In this post, I will share with you the ten most important lessons I learned during my journey in SEO, which began in 2013 and continues until now, during which I achieved, thanks to God, more than 150 thousand dollars.

How it all started: This website started as a simple blog in 2013, at a time when I lost all possibilities after my AdSense account, which contained $37, was closed and I stopped working for a whole year.

At that time, I decided to share with others what I had learned in my painful experience and inform them of how to rank first in search engines through simplified and proven explanations.

What I will share with you in this post is a summary of my experiences over 6 years of working on the Internet:

Below I will share with you real experiences, some of which are painful and some of which are effective, so there is no need to rush. Read each line carefully, as I am writing to you directly and I am very keen that you learn from my mistakes and benefit from what I succeeded in during this period of time...

Lesson One: Continuity is factor No. 1, 2 and 3 of success on the Internet...

Continuity? Yes, my friend …

The reason for the success of SEO, after God’s grace, is the first 60 days of creating this site...

At that time, I made a vow to myself that I would place this site as a first and second priority in my life and that everything else would go to hell. This led me to stay up all night writing lengthy explanations, searching for new information and ideas that would distinguish this site from any other source on the Internet.

I did everything and anything possible to publish the name of this site. I remember that I ran a competition several days after launching the site, the gift of which was the purchase of a paid domain for the winner. Of course, this is what I had at the time, only $10 in the credit card, and I wanted to publish the name of the site as much as possible, but it did not come to me. Except this idea.

After recording my first course in the field of SEO entitled (Secrets of SEO) and putting it on YouTube, I wanted to get views, so I contacted everyone in front of me who owned Facebook groups specializing in working on the Internet and electronic marketing for publishing videos. Indeed, this happened and the course was published on more than one page. From a group and I have more than one person, and I always remember one of them with goodness (Abdul Karim bin Muhammadi)

I did not rest and rely on circumstances and for people to see what I do and appreciate it for themselves. Rather, I went to everyone, knocking on their doors. I answered questions in groups and provided free consultations to people I did not know for the purpose of spreading the name of SEO correctly and gaining the trust of users.

Lesson Two: If you do not appreciate your effort, no one will appreciate it...

Each one of us is different from the other, so your appreciation of yourself and your effort should not be linked to people’s opinion of what you offer, but rather to your own opinion of what you are doing, and this is a lesson I learned through experience...

I launched my first paid course entitled Master SEO in 2014

The price of this course was $35, thinking that when I offered it at a reduced price, the largest possible number of people would benefit, and I would also sell a larger number of copies, but this is exactly what did not happen...

Indeed, the course achieved very satisfactory sales and profits, thanks to God, as it was the first course I offered, but while this course achieved about 100 sales within a year and a half.

The SEO Max course, whose price reached $150, achieved 185 sales in one year.

What does this mean?

If you see that you are offering something truly exceptional and distinctive, do not lower your price to satisfy the largest possible number of people because these same people appreciate something useful, even if its price is expensive.

When you lower your price, what you offered at a small price will be compared to what you offer at a high price later, and while in both cases you are offering your best, people will not be convinced of this matter...

Lesson Three: Promise nothing and give everything...

I started working with clients to manage their sites in search engines since the beginning of 2014, and until now I have worked on more than 70 sites in different fields, and I was allowed to work with individuals, companies, and major institutions. This means that I met many different mentalities until I learned this lesson...

In the field of SEO, not everyone can Ensuring the achievement of specific results, regardless of its efficiency, due to the presence of a third party that controls everything, which is (Google), so you must not promise your client anything other than continuous improvement and doing your role to the fullest.

Because when you promise the customer By reaching the first three results on Google, for example, but you advance it to the second page or the last of the first page, the customer considers this a failure because you were the one who promised him to achieve this, while in fact you did a wonderful job, made a great effort, and did your best.

I've learned this lesson After an unfortunate experience with a client for whom we created a new website and he made a great effort for 6 months until we promoted his website to the first page in more than one word, but Google wants to change its algorithms suddenly, as is usual.

Then the site retreats somewhat to the second page, and this customer goes crazy and asks for a refund of what he paid in full, under the pretext that he did not achieve what we agreed upon, even though we went up with words from nowhere to the second page and the end of the first.

But at the same time Whoever provides a service such as website management in search engines must understand what he is dealing with, because this is the most difficult job in the field of electronic marketing, as it is the only job whose results you do not control directly, but you bear full responsibility for it.

Therefore, it is always advised not to promise specific results, but at the same time provide everything in your power to achieve the best possible result for your client so that he can achieve more visits and profits.

Lesson Four: Distraction will test you, so do not fail the test

As you get closer to reaching your goal, you will experience distraction and you will begin to ask a normal question, which is: What should I do? Is there anything better? What if I do this and that? What if I decide to work in affiliate marketing instead of Google AdSense? Is profiting from YouTube better or should I start a foreign website?

Sounds like familiar questions, doesn't it?

You are not the only one who is exposed to this matter. We are all exposed to this distraction on a daily basis through the posts that we read on Facebook from our friends, the videos that we see on YouTube, or the articles that we read, but in reality, this is the Internet industry that depends on ( Selling and marketing dreams of getting rich quick for beginners )

But what you should really do is isolate yourself...

If you want to succeed faster, focus on what you have only, which is ( Your effort I will not tell you to delete Facebook or stop following it, but learn to manage it for your benefit. Any page or person that you find to be a source of distraction for you, unfollow him so that your timeline remains clean and clear and does not invite distraction...

There are more than 1000 ways to profit from the Internet, but there is only one method that suits you!

It is the way in which you can add and grow, and it is the way in which if you decide to complete your life, you will be able to do so to be your permanent source of livelihood and livelihood...

As for the investment and side projects trick, it is a trick that beginners fall into, where the person asks what if I make a small foreign niche as a source of side profit, and while he does not understand what he is doing at all, he spends hundreds of dollars and spends dozens of hours trying to reach the first dollar, but to no avail!

You can do small side projects when you have a main project that you depend on completely and you want to diversify your investments and sources of income. But don't start with something you don't understand!

Lesson Five: Is it difficult to reach the summit and maintain it?

Exactly as you said... harder

This is what you only learn through experience. Here I achieved everything I was striving for in SEO and decided to stop blogging for a while. why did you do that ? Because I wrongly thought that I had actually achieved what I was seeking.

Creating motivation is what distinguishes the distinguished from the successful!

After 3 years of working on the site and writing more than 100 articles, I decided to stop working on SEO. It is true that at that time, I did not find anything that motivated me to continue, even if the profits were because I began to achieve them from other sources...

But it took me a whole year to understand the truth of the matter, that I had reached the summit I was looking for, and this meant the disappearance of the motivations that had motivated me when I started working on this site.

Therefore, I decided to create new motives that would push me to return again, which was to transform this simple blog into a large company that deals with clients from all over the Arab world and outside it as well...

This is what I call striving without expectations...

At the beginning of 2018, I decided to start transforming SEO into a specialized SEO agency and started collecting Staff Who will accompany me on this journey. I made a comprehensive change in the form and content of the site more than once until we settled on the current form in an attempt to create a new motive...

Before 2018, I was personally receiving requests from clients and managing projects individually with the help of some freelancers on specific tasks.

But now, thanks to God, we are a team of 11 people who manage more than 50 clients a year. We have clients from Egypt, the Gulf, and Europe, and websites in Arabic, English, and French...

Did you expect what is happening today when you started the site on 13/8/2013? The answer is definitely no...

This is exactly what I mean by striving devoid of expectations. Make the effort that makes you sleep reassured that you are doing what you have to do and did not fall short. Learn from your mistakes, develop your methods, and try to distinguish yourself from others.

Then let the results surprise you!

Lesson Six: Do not respond to criticism and learn from it

When you start working on the Internet, you will be exposed to criticism, no matter how much you try to isolate yourself and stay away from problems. There are those who will find something wrong in what you do and will criticize you for it, so you should never respond to criticism publicly.

But you must learn from it...

This is what I learned through experience, as I was criticized a lot for things I did and other things I did not do! In the early days of SEO, I used to respond to any criticism I received on my personal account, believing that I had to do so in order to clarify matters and shut the mouths of critics.

But in fact, this is the worst thing you can do on the Internet 🙂

As soon as you respond to your criticism, it means that you have given the start signal to others. They will find pleasure in criticizing you, whether they are right or not, because you respond and respond to provocation, but if you listen to the criticism and do not respond

Everyone will see who rises above the mistake and who is keen to continue it...

Even those who will see that you are weak and have nothing to say will not change their minds if you respond. Rather, they will argue with you until they prove that they are right, even if they are not, so there is no need to try to change their conviction in the first place!

If you are criticized in an objective and respectful manner, be sure to learn from it and thank the person who made it because he hopes to see you in the best possible way, and his sadness or distress towards you is the result of his arrogance.

Lesson Seven: Invest in your mind before your position

The best thing you can do is invest in your mind that manages your projects and websites, because this field is truly rapidly changing and developing in a way that may confuse you and make you stop working completely.

Therefore, I advise you to invest in courses that you consider truly useful and that contain information that is new to you and that you have not been exposed to before. Invest in attending conferences in which people share their experiences. Invest in knowing successful people and listening to their advice. Try to surround yourself with an environment that is conducive to success.

In the field of SEO, I always advise you to follow the large annual events such as MozCon, SMX West, Search Love, and other annual conferences in which advanced ideas and explanations are shared.

Lesson Eight: Not everything people say is true. Create your own experiences

A person usually relates to what other people recommend, and that is why you find someone who achieves success and profits from working with Amazon, so everyone goes to market Amazon products.

And another person makes profits from YouTube, so everyone goes to create channels on YouTube in the same field in an attempt to emulate his experience in detail in the hope of achieving the same results, but!

This usually does not happen because the path that thousands of people take is consumed and its goodness diminishes...

This is what I realized over the past ten years, as from 2013 until now I have been creating small side projects based on... Bing search engine And not Google, because I found that it is a different path that many do not take due to their lack of sufficient knowledge of it or their desire to run after successful experiences...

What I am sharing with you now is not an attempt on my part to push you to create a website and target the Bing search engine, because as I told you, do not get distracted and do not pursue what you do not know, but I wanted to tell you that sometimes doing something that only you do is much better than doing something that hundreds of other people do.

Create your own experiences...

Lesson Nine: You work to rest. Remember that...

A person usually forgets the reason for which he started working! Really, we all work to achieve a good income that makes us enjoy life and relax from work afterwards, so you should not forget that...

Always put your goals and commitments in front of you

The more your goals require greater commitments, whatever comes after them, the more you will not be happy because you need to work longer and put in greater effort to maintain their results. Therefore, balancing between work and enjoying the results of your work is considered a very important matter, and you must honestly think about it. Is what I earn today sufficient or not? …

The time you spend at work does not come back again and it affects you in many ways physically, psychologically and nervously. So learn when to stop working and enjoy your family life and appreciate what you have, even if it is little.

As it is easy for a person to lose his compass in the midst of life’s concerns and requirements. We, as humans, have energy that we do not exhaust trying to make more money at the expense of your health and happiness, because you will not enjoy it.

Lesson 10: Be proactive with action, not words...

A person usually gets excited once he finds a unique idea and wants to share it with everyone in order to get praise and support, but this usually makes you lose enthusiasm for implementation and puts you in a spiral of thinking without a goal...

People like people who act, not words

If the two meet in one place, people will listen to the one who had the experience, not the one who had the idea. Therefore, you must subject your ideas to the experiment and take risks, and not wait until your idea is implemented in the best possible way.

This is what SEO looked like when it started 6 years ago...

This is what it looks like today...

Everything changes and develops with time, and so does your project...

So start with what you have today and do not wait too long. This is what I did with SEO right when I only had $7 on my credit card. I decided to buy the domain and connect it to the Blogger platform and start blogging. This is what I had at the time and nothing else, in addition to my experiences that I wanted to share with everyone …

Conclusion
