Great content, Professor Noura, God willing

I had a small problem. I actually searched for it and worked on some solutions on the site, but I wanted to check with you.

The problem: The website I was working on was in English and there was no problem with Google, and all the pages were archived, but I asked the programming team to add the Arabic language to the site, and they actually did that, and then the problem appeared, which was that the pages were being crawled but not indexed.

The solution that I provided is that Google has not yet gotten rid of the old pages and that it has a problem in determining priority, and accordingly I asked the programmers to add rel=”canonical”

With every page, so that Google understands that this is the new page and the priority it has, and Google began indexing the pages from the beginning and from the beginning.

If there are other suggestions, I would be grateful

The conclusion from your words is that the translation is literal, and this led to the archiving of some pages and the exclusion of others due to (poor quality of content after translation).
    The solution is here:
It is preferable that the translation is not literal from Google, and that the articles have an Arabic text and an English text.
Excluded pages in Google Search Console are modified with content suitable for reading when the language is changed to Arabic.
Create an internal linking network between excluded pages and archived pages (preferably related to the topic).
Make sure there is a sitemap for the Arabic version.
